Tuning into Teens is a 6 week program, 2 hours a week that helps you understand and support your teen.
Term 1 workshops starting 730PM AEST WEDNESDAY 6TH MAY 2026.
Tuning into Teens is a program that runs over 6 weekly, 2 hour, online sessions.
Based on research by the Gottman Institute into effectively raising teens and supporting them to become emotionally intelligent adults.
The Tuning into Teens Method
5 Steps of Emotion Coaching takes your teens emotions from conflict to connection. Tuning into Teens workshops give you the confidence to actually use it. University of Melbourne has proven that if you use Emotion Coaching 3 out of 10 times with your teen you will see results.
One Step at a Time
Each week we focus on one step of the Emotion Coaching process. We make sure you understand it, give you a chance to practice it in the group, and make a plan to try it at home.
From week 2 onwards we start the session with a check in around what worked well and what did not when you tried it at home. It’s easier to change habits early, and we want to set you up to succeed.
We recommend attending with another adult who is in a parenting or caring role for your teen, giving you an ally as you learn new ways to approach the challenges you face.
